Mortgage & Protection Adviser

Friends Capital are a fast growing, and highly regarded, mortgage and secured loan brokerage based in the city centre of Sheffield. Due to continued business growth, and plans to develop the business further in the future, there is a fantastic opportunity for experienced and talented mortgage and protection advisers to join our team. Our working environment is fast paced and vibrant, and we offer very competitive rates of pay along with a generous OTE bonus structure.

Salary DOE + Uncapped Bonus

37.5 hours p/w

The chosen adviser will:

• Work a constant flow of pre-completed fact finds provided to them from on-line and introducer referred leads.
• Use product and criteria knowledge assess each case and research the market for the most suitable product for the client.
• Provide professional compliant advice to the client to recommend the most suitable mortgage and protection product.

The ideal adviser will:

  • Have experience with 1st and/or 2nd Charge mortgage products including knowledge of lending criteria with high street and specialist lenders.
  • Have experience of the Life & Protection marketplace and offering compliant, relevant advice.
  • Be an experienced and competent mortgage adviser with the capabilities to write 12+ mortgages per month
  • Be confident with speaking to clients and have a professional face to face and telephone presence
  • Have a good working knowledge of CRM systems, be computer literate and experience of working with the Microsoft suite
  • Be a highly motivated and sales driven individual with an ambition to earn substantial commission

Skills & Experience:

  • CeMAP Qualified
  • Ideally a minimum of 2 years experience within the Mortgage Broking or Secured lending market.
  • Minimum 2 years experience of proven protection sales.
  • Ability to work within a tight knit team and build relationships with peers and managers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to overcome challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality professional independent mortgage advice.
  • Manage your daily workflows to ensure all cases are up to date.
  • Ensure all cases are compliant in line with FCA regulations including completed paperwork within the required timescales.
  • Maintain knowledge of the industry and keep up to date with changes and new products.
  • Meet sales and performance targets.
  • Understand Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) when dealing with clients.

Role: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Basic depending on experience OTE £35k – £50k p.a.
