Mortgage Operations Manager

Friends Capital are a fast growing, and highly regarded, mortgage and secured loan brokerage based in the city centre of Sheffield. Due to continued business growth, and plans to develop the business further in the future, there is a fantastic opportunity for experienced and talented Mortgage Operations Manager to join our team. Our working environment is fast paced and vibrant, and we offer very competitive rates of pay along with a generous OTE bonus structure.

Salary DOE + Uncapped Bonus

37.5 hours p/w

What we’re looking for

Working closely with the director(s), this role will involve managing a team of Mortgage Advisers and the supporting staff and include:

  • Manage a team of employed mortgage & protection advisers.
  • Arrange staffing rotas & holidays to ensure cover for optimum customer contact times.
  • Set targets & conduct reviews with Advisers.
  • Recruit & train new Mortgage Advisers.
  • Recruit & train Trainee Mortgage Advisers.
  • Manage daily workflows & ensure all follow-up carried out diligently.
  • Responsible for all aspects of compliance during & after sales process.
  • Lead by example and write own Mortgage & Protection cases & contribute to income targets of business by leading by example.
  • Broaden product offering of business into secured/commercial/specialist broking.
  • Be agile when new products/lenders plans change & ensure staff trained & ready to implement.
  • Liaise with Lenders & 1/3rd parties to grow external presence in marketplace.
  • Keep abreast of ever-changing technological innovations within residential lending market ie sourcing systems/CRM/open banking/customer communication gateways.
  • Liaise with Marketing Manager to deliver constant stream of viable own-branded quality convertible leads.
  • Responsible for sales P&L.
  • Ambition to grow into Managing Director role with equity option scheme.
  • Report to Owners/Directors.

What do we need from you?

  • Previous management experience within the mortgage industry.
  • A strong knowledge of mortgages.
  • Comfortable liaising with directors and third parties.
  • CeMAP qualification.
  • Ability to work within a tight knit team and build relationships with peers and managers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to overcome challenges.
